Crisis Do's and Dont's for Students

We want to ensure your safety and well-being during unpredictable times. Please note that Reedley College Mental Health Services is NOT a crisis/suicide hotline. Feel free to contact us after taking the following steps.

DO call the campus or district police if:

  • You're having suicidal or homicidal thoughts. This means thoughts of harming yourself or others. You will not get in trouble for calling the police; they want to help you. Your life matters!
  • You have access to weapons or medication you plan to use to hurt yourself or others.
  • A classmate tells you about their suicidal or homicidal thoughts. Try to get their last name and ID number, and provide this information to Campus PD. If you receive this information via social media or text, call Campus PD and then forward them the information (like screenshots of the conversation) via email (they'll give you the address). Remember, it's always better to be safe than sorry!

Additionally, you can use these crisis resources:

  • Tiger Crisis Line: 833-646-1526
