ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL AG CONFERENCE
More than 300 industry leaders, growers, and educators from across the valley and state, along with students, attended our annual Agriculture Conference on October 9 at the McClarty Center for Fine and Performing Arts. President Buckley addressed the audience with an update on our award-winning ag program, and California Department of Food and Agriculture Secretary Karen Ross was our guest speaker during the morning session. "I've done about 13 different ag tech events with community colleges, the very first one was here at Reedley College," Ross said. "To have the vision and the passion President Buckley has, to hear the academic staff on the panel say, 'we're here to train people for your operations,' is so important... we have to have this kind of collaboration of sharing information to get it right." The conference featured discussions on food safety, workforce development, and AgTech. A career fair took place in the cafeteria, and live demonstrations from JSub Irrigation, Verdi, and Aerobotics closed out the day.
