President Buckley Updates Students On Return To Campus

Jun 22, 2021

Students

We are finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel during these unprecedented times. I could not be more proud of you for your accomplishments despite the additional challenges that have been placed in front of you during the pandemic, so it gives me great pleasure to provide you with this update regarding your return to campus.

In the last few days, federal, state, and local guidelines for campus operations to prevent the spread of COVID-19 have changed substantially. Reedley College is excited to announce the following modifications for on-campus protocols for the fall 2021 semester:

  • Social distancing requirements for vaccinated persons have been lifted.
  • Approximately 50% of our class offerings will be held in person.
  • Mask wearing requirements have been removed, both outdoors and inside buildings, for vaccinated employees and students, with the exception of our Child Development Centers. Mask wearing is still welcome on campus for anyone that chooses to have additional protection.
  • We will continue to offer a variety of face-to-face, fully online, and hybrid course sections for fall 2021.
  • Nearly all of our state-of-the-art Career Technical Education programs will be offered in-person along with a wide selection of general education classes.
  • Additional face-to-face classes will be added to our fall schedule, based on demand.
  • The library, cafeteria, bookstore, and tutoring centers will be open and available for in-person use. Online access to the library and tutoring services will continue for those students who prefer remote access.
  • A comprehensive one-stop Student Service Center will open on August 2nd in the Student Center to provide in-person services. Additionally, student services will continue to be offered via email, phone, and Zoom platforms to meet the needs of students who prefer remote services. For more details on services provided by all Student Services departments, please visit the Student Services webpage.

Reedley College will continue to sanitize each classroom and office space daily, provide hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes in classrooms, offices, and common space, and the college will continue the use of CDC-recommended air filters and 100% air intake on our HVAC systems.

Fall semester intercollegiate athletics programs will return, with teams competing in football, women’s volleyball, women’s golf, men’s and women’s basketball, and women’s soccer. Come on out and support your teams!

We have successfully and safely offered multiple in-person courses since the spring of 2020 without a single documented case of on-campus COVID 19 transmission. If you need more information about our re-opening plan, please contact the Reedley College Online Information Center or visit the campus COVID 19 webpage for updates and more information.

We all look forward to seeing more of you on campus this semester and all of you by next January. Thank you for choosing us!
