Academic Standards Committee
Purpose:
To review and approve or deny student petitions related to academic matters, including, but not restricted to, academic renewal; waiver of disqualification suspension period; waiver of program, major, and graduation requirements; appeal of waiver of course prerequisites, degree and certificate evaluations, and transcript evaluations; appeal of requests for course grade review or extenuating circumstances withdrawal. The committee will also propose, recommend, and review policies and guidelines relevant to its authority and jurisdiction.

Petitions can be obtained from the Reedley College Admissions and Records Office. Students should meet with a college academic counselor to obtain information about the process, discuss their needs for a petition, get advice regarding their options, and get help if needed in completing the forms.

Academic Standards Committee Operating Agreement
Meeting Schedule:
This committee meets monthly during the semester on the fourth Wednesday of the month. The cut-off date for acceptance of petitions by the Reedley College Admissions and Records Office is the Tuesday of the third week at 5:00 pm. In addition, the committee holds special meetings the first week of the semester (usually on the first Monday of classes) to review petitions received over the break between semesters.
