Why Study Automotive Technology at RC

The Reedley College Automotive Technology technician training program will provide the student with the knowledge and skills to perform diagnosis and repair on foreign & domestic automotive systems, enabling them to enter the automotive service industry at the advanced apprentice level. Subjects include: engine repair, engine performance, electrical systems, brake, steering & suspension, manual & automatic transmissions (including differentials / transaxles), and air conditioning. Job placement assistance is available through our Auto 19V Cooperative Work Experience course.

Courses and Programs

Our automotive technology department offers in-depth, state-of-the-art training for the major areas of specialization in the field of automotive service and repair. Faculty members are trained, experienced, and certified automotive repair technicians:  having passed the California Smog, Brake, and Lamp Inspection License requirements, as well as multiple certifications from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).

Program features include a spacious facility with modern equipment, and industry-recommended courses, providing a sound foundation for the one-year Certificate and two-year Associate Degree program options.
