EOPS Eligibility
How to determine if you are eligible for EOPS.
In order to be eligible for EOPS program services a student must meet the following criteria:
- Be a resident of California and/or have AB 540 status
 - Qualify to receive a Board of Governors Fee Waiver A or B
 - Completed less than 30 college units
 - Enrolled in at least 12 units
 - And meet one of the following EOPS criteria:
- Below minimum level degree-applicable English or Math
 - Did not graduate from high school or received General Education Diploma (GED)
 - Graduated from high school with a grade point average below 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
 - Previously enrolled in remedial education
 - First-generation college student
 - Emancipated or former foster youth
 - Non-native English speaker
 
 
CARE Eligibility
CARE services are in addition to EOPS services provided. In order to be eligible for CARE services a student must meet all of the EOPS requirements above and the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years old
 - Be receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits
 - Be a single parent and the head of household as determined by the California Department of Social Services
