Reedley College was awarded a Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Title V grant for the FY 2022 grant competition from the U.S. Department of Education. The United in Diversifying Our Students (UNIDOS) in STEM project will seek to increase the number of first generation Hispanic and low-income students who enroll, complete, and transfer in STEM degree pathways. Funding will support STEM outreach, wrap-around case management, improved lab spaces and equipment, curriculum development, and a Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) program which will further support underrepresented students to excel in STEM fields. “I would like to thank all the faculty and staff that made this grant award possible by their hard work in serving our students and ensuring that students who want to pursue a STEM career have the best support to reach their dreams and goals,” said RC Dean of Instruction Juan Bedolla. The total funding of three-million dollars for this award will be received over five years ($600-thousand/year).
