Reedley College Students:
As you know, Reedley College will be offering most, but not all, of our fall 2020 semester courses online. Many of our lecture-based courses will be offered online to keep you, your instructors, and the staff safe. However, almost of our Career Technical Education programs, such as Dental Assisting, Mechanized Agriculture, Animal Science, Natural Resources, Aviation Maintenance Technology and Automotive Technology (just to name a few), will be offered either completely face-to-face on campus or in a hybrid modality.
Student safety and effective student learning were our top considerations in making these decisions. We are implementing safety measures for those classes that will be held on campus.
The class schedule in WebAdvisor has been updated to reflect these changes. You can find WebAdvisor by going to the Reedley College Homepage and then logging in through the Portal. If your class is still listed as being on campus, plan to attend face-to-face, on campus beginning the week of August 10th. If your class was moved online, expect to hear from your instructor with more details as the semester gets closer.
We know many of you are uncertain about online education. To help you feel more at ease, we will be offering online success workshops as part of our “Tiger Preview” and Pathway orientations. Keep watching the college website for the days and times of the orientations. We also have laptops and mifi equipment available on a limited basis to loan to you free of charge.
We want you to know we are doing everything we can to support you to make the transition to online classes as easy as possible.
To support you this semester, we are maintaining a campus presence for many services and have enhanced online access to all our services. You can find student services on our website, including tutoring, counseling, financial assistance and other support areas. We have also continued programs to provide library book loan, food aid, disabled student assistance and fee waivers. We’ve improved our ability to deliver on our promise to help you succeed whether you come to campus or never leave your home.
Our instructors have worked very hard to fine-tune their courses for an effective learning experience online, as well as making themselves remotely available to assist you. During this coronavirus pandemic, Reedley College has obtained access to in-house and community resources that can assist you in overcoming any challenges you may face.
