Students Training for Achievement & Retention (STAR) Program

veteran center logoIn aligning with Guided Pathway goals, the Veterans Center STAR program strives to support students with their academic journey at Reedley College. Support Services for all Veteran, Reservist, Guard, or eligible Veteran Dependents using Veterans Education Benefits include:

  • Comprehensive academic and career counseling
  • Priority Registration (Veteran and Reservist students only)
  • Achievement Recognition (30 Unit challenge and Certificate, Degree or Transfer accomplishment ceremony)
  • Assistance with Financial aid forms and transfer
  • Student Training for Achievement and Retention Mentor/Academic Coach Services
  • Veteran Success Workshops
  • Veteran Pantry
  • School Supplies
  • Laptop and Calculator lending program
  • Linkage to Community resources

The STAR program provides students with an opportunity for additional funding support with a Veterans student Grant and Text Book Voucher depending on funding. In order to be eligible students must:

  1. Be a Veteran, Reservist, Guard, or eligible Veteran Dependents using Veterans Education Benefits
  2. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) every academic year for Reedley College
  3. Attend two Counseling appointments and two Veterans Center Workshops or Reedley College student engagement activity (Events on campus or virtually) every semester.
  4. Be in Good Academic standing (2.0 G.P.A. or better) and have a Reedley College major.
