How to Apply for Financial Aid

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Federal School Code - 001308

The FAFSA is for US/Naturalized Citizens or Permanent Residents. 

The student and their parent (if applicable) must use an FSA ID, made up of a username and password, to electronically sign the FAFSA.  The FSA ID confirms your identity when accessing your financial aid information and federal student aid documents. To create an FSA ID, please visit the FSA ID Website.

Then, submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

  • You will need 2021 income information to complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA. This will be used to determine eligibility for Summer 2023, Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024 terms.
  • You will need 2022 income information to complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA.  This will be used to determine eligibility for Summer 2024, Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 terms.
  • If you are a dependent student, you will need your parents to create an FSA ID account.
  • If you are an independent student and are married, you will need your significant other to create an FSA ID account. 

California Dream Act Application (CADAA)

The CADAA is for undocumented, AB540-eligible students. 

Submit the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) to be processed by the California Student Aid Commission.   

  • You will need 2021 income information to complete the 2023-2024 CADAA.  This will be used to determine eligibility for Summer 2023, Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024 terms.
  • You will need 2022 income information to complete the 2024-2025 CADAA.  This will be used to determine eligibility for Summer 2024, Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 terms.

Check your RC student email regularly. 

The RC Financial Aid Office will notify you if you need to submit documentation to the RC Financial Aid Office and when your Financial Aid Offer Letter is ready to view.

Check your Self Service. 

On Self-Service through your SCCCD Portal, you can view your Financial Aid Offer Letter, see if anything is missing, and sign up for a direct deposit.

  • December 31, 2023: 2024-2025 FAFSA & Dream Act Application Anticipated Opening
  • March 18, 2024: 2024-2025 RC Scholarship Application Deadline. Reedley College Scholarships for more information.
  • April 2, 2024: 2024-2025 FAFSA & Dream Act Application Deadline for initial Cal Grant awards
  • June 30, 2024: 2023-2024 FAFSA & Dream Act Application Deadline
  • September 2, 2024: Deadline for Competitive Cal Grant awards for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Complete the California Dream Act Application

You should complete the Dream Application if you are an undocumented/AB 540 student.
