UNITED STATES MILITARY VA LOAN DISABILITY AWARENESS SCHOLARSHIP
Submit an essay of 500-1000 words describing how you or someone you know overcame disability to do something great. THE GOLDEN 1 CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIPS
Golden 1 is launching a college scholarship program beginning Fall 2013! Awards will range from $1,000-$5,000 and are renewable for up to four years. To qualify you must: 1) be a full-time student at an accredited, nonprofit two- or four- year college/university in California, 2) be a member (or the dependent of a member) of the Golden 1 Credit Union for at least one year as of January 15, 2013, 3) demonstrate involvement in community volunteerism and extracurricular activities, and 4) have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. This program was founded by California strawberry farmers to help children of strawberry farmworkers reach their educational goals. THE AMERICAN LEGACY FOUNDATION DR. ALMA S. ADAMS SCHOLARSHIP
The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage communications to reduce tabacco use in priority populations. Two awards of $5,000 will go to undergraduate or graduate students at an accredited institution in the United States. Awards will be based on: 1) record of commitment to community service on behalf of an underserved community, preferably related to tabacco prevention, and 2) the best use of visual arts, media, creative writing, etc. to convey appropriate health messages aimed at raising awareness of tabacco's harmful impact. THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY YOUNG CANCER SURVIVOR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
California Divisions's Young Cancer Survivor Scholarship Program awards stipends of up to $7,500 for educational expenses to college-bound pediatric cancer survivors in need of financial aid. THE LEAGUE OF MEXICAN AMERICAN WOMEN OF FRESNO
The League of Mexican American Women has awarded over $276,000 in funds to students in Fresno County over the last 37 years. To be considered eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be freshmen, continuing or re-entry students working towards an Associate or Bachelors degree. Must also be of Mexican American heritage, have a minimum 2.8 GPA, be a Fresno County resident and plan to enroll as a full-time student. Financial need will also be considered. The California/Nevada/Hawaii (CNH) Forest Fire Council provides annual awards of three $1000 scholarships to Wildland Fire Science students. Their intentions are to: support the education of these students within the states of California, Nevada and/or Hawaii, to help students meet their educational goals financially and consider a carer with federal or state fire management programs, and to promote the practice and acceptance of professional Fire Science/Technology graduates into the federal and state workforce. The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students. Domo Scholarship for Business Management
For the 2013 academic year, Domo will provide two scholarships of $2,500 each for college students who are studying business management and who show an interest in analytics. Think before you write. Brainstorm to generate some good ideas, then create an outline to get you started.
