Disabled Student Programs & Services (DSP&S)

Disabled Students Programs & Services (DSP&S) is designed to provide specialized services and accommodations that assist students with documented physical, psychological and learning disabilities reach their maximum potential while achieving their educational goals. Staff specialists interact with all areas of the campus to eliminate physical, academic and attitudinal barriers. Disabled Students Programs & Services takes a personal interest in meeting the special needs of students with disabilities.

To receive services students must self identify and complete the following steps: 

  1. Apply to Reedley College 
  2. Complete a Reedley College Accuplacer Assessment Test for reading, writing, and math placement. 
  3. Complete the Reedley College DSP&S Online Orientation 
  4. Gather Disability Documentation (i.e., IEP, 504 plan, ITP, etc.) and/or have the following Disability Verification completed by an appropriate medical professional: General Medical Verification, Psychological Disability Verification
  5. Prepare a folder conatining Accuplacer Assessment, Online Orientation Certificate of Completion, Disability Documentation, and any other additional academic/disability paperwork (i.e., high school/other college transcripts, psychological testing, learning disability assessment, etc.) that would enable DSP&S to appropriately serve the applicant. 
  6. Contact DSP&S to schedule an intake appointment with a counselor to verify disability and discuss disability related services and accommodations. Applicants may print and complete the following DSP&S documents for the intake appointment: application, consent for release of information, and policies and procedures

 

DSP&S Special Programs

DSP&S Offers students with disabilities the opportunity to participate in a variety of programs and services to assist them pursue their academic, vocational, and personal goals including: Transition to College Program (TTC), Student Support Services Program (SSS), Workability III Program (WAIII), Learning Disability Program and Services, and High Tech Center and Alternate Media Services
